Delta Dental of Iowa

Delta Dental of Iowa is a dental and vision insurance company, serving 1.6 million Iowans, that provides plans for individuals, employers, and government programs. The company is also a not-for-profit and helps to facilitate things like free dental and vision clinics and dental student loan repayment programs. In my role as Marketing Design Content Coordinator, I executed many visual communication projects, with audiences internal and external.

Rotating Booth at the Iowa State Fair

Delta Dental used the “Rotating Booth” inside the Varied Industries Building at the Iowa State Fair this past year. Our main focus was “Bring Smiles” to fairgoers, make Iowans more aware of the vision products that we offer, and spread awareness about the way that our foundation “Gives Back” to the community. We also had a prize contest that fairgoers could enter by scanning a QR code and filling out a form with their email.

After I created the look and feel for the booth, executed on all applications. Print materials included banners, posters and business card with QR codes, replacement graphics for our “Spin & Grin” and branded giveaways such as: fabric eyeglasses cases, frisbees, and waterless tattoos. I handled all digital graphics with included all social media posts and any web banners for the landing page and form submission for the contest entries. The communications team and I, as well as our interns and volunteers from other departments, worked at the booth both days and enjoyed interacting with Iowans at the fair.

Shop Small & Win Big Social Media Campaign

In winter of 2025, the marketing department decided to create a social media campaign highlighting small businesses across the state. We created posts on social media asking the community to tag their favorite “local gems” and fill out an online form that would enter them in a contest to win a $100 gift card for the same small business. We selected 10 winners and highlighted most of the businesses that were entered on a follow-up post to encourage other Iowans to check our business suggested by their friends and neighbors.

I came up with a design and created animated and static graphics for socials and a landing page. I created the landing page using Marketo and used automated processes to gather the entries and select winners to receive a gift card.

Other Materials

My scope of work included various materials across different departments and audiences. I created polished designs for external marketing of our products, engagement opportunities with brokers, documents used to communicate with legislators or providers, and materials used for board meetings and other internal applications.
